Keynote: Joe Sanfelippo

Dr. Joe Sanfelippo is the Superintendent of the Fall Creek School District in Fall Creek, WI. The Fall Creek School District was named an Innovative District in 2016 and 2017 by the International Center for Leadership in Education. Joe holds a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from St. Norbert College, a MS in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a MS in Educational Leadership, and a PhD in Leadership, Learning, and Service from Cardinal Stritch University.

Joe is also an adjunct professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Viterbo University. Joe has taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade. He was also a school counselor and high school coach prior to taking on an elementary principal position in 2005. He has served as a principal in suburban and rural Wisconsin.

Joe started the #1minwalk2work Leadership Challenge and co-authored The Power of Branding-Telling Your School’s Story, Principal Professional Development: Leading Learning in a Digital Age and Hacking Leadership: 10 Ways Great Leaders Inspire Learning That Teachers, Students and Parents Love.

He was selected as 1 of 117 Future Ready Superintendents in 2014 and 1 of 50 Superintendents as a Personalized Learning Leader in 2016 by the US Department of Education. He attended summits at the White House for both distinctions. Joe was named 1 of 5 K-12 administrators to watch in 2018 by Education Dive. He has been a featured speaker in multiple states in the areas of Advancing the Use of Social Media for School Leaders, Telling Your School Story, Creating a Culture of Yes, and Personalized Professional Growth for Staff.

Keynote: Tara Martin

Tara Martin is an enthusiastic educator, national speaker, and author who thrives on change and refuses to settle for the status quo. She has served as a classroom teacher, an instructional coach for several years, and most recently, a district administrator.

As the founder of #BookSnaps, the latest reading comprehension strategy currently implemented in seventeen countries, she is always seeking unique ways to make learning fun, relevant, and meaningful.

Tara is the author of the inspirational book, Be REAL: Educate from the Heart and Cannonball In, a motivating children’s book illustrated by Genesis Kohler. Tara firmly believes machines and artificial intelligence will never replicate an individual’s REAL identity–the unique strengths, talents, and life experiences of every human. Tara’s passion for education and love of writing led her to a new role where she coaches and serves educational authors as the Director of Public Relations and Communication for DBC, Inc.

Tara’s ambition is to lead a culture of innovative change, keep social-emotional learning at the heart of our work, and encourage others to Cannonball In and fulfill their true potential!

IETA Membership

Annual membership in the Idaho Education Technology Association is individual.

IETA is a non-profit organization and its operating activities are funded solely through membership fees. Your continued support of IETA is greatly appreciated.

The purpose of the Association shall be promoting and facilitating the use of technology in Idaho education. The Association shall promote, facilitate and sustain technology and all its users while enhancing the education of Idaho’s students for tomorrow’s technology.

Any Idaho K-12 public school employee or public school district appointed representative who is desirous of promoting the interest of the IETA and sharing in its work shall be eligible for membership and may be an active member paying the annual dues as provided in the Bylaws. An active member shall be entitled to vote, hold office, participate in all activities of the Association, and receive publications and other services of the Association.

Active members are also invited to attend regional meetings. IETA is divided into 6 regions and each region holds informative meetings about utilizing technology in education. These meetings usually have State Department of Education updates, vendors showing how to best utilize their products, and districts collaborating on technology use.

IETA grants have been made possible due to the generosity of our annual conference sponsors. IETA will fund a minimum of $10,000. Grant proposals can be written for up to $2,000.00. Please note only one grant submission per IETA member.
