Keynote: Thomas C. Murray

Tom serves as the Director of Innovation for Future Ready Schools®, a Project of the Alliance for Excellent Education, located in Washington, D.C. He has testified before the United States Congress and works alongside that body and the US Senate, the White House, the US Department of Education and state departments of education, corporations, and school districts throughout the country to implement student-centered, personalized learning while helping to lead Future Ready Schools® and Digital Learning Day.

Murray serves as a regular conference keynote, was named the 2018 National/Global EdTech Leader of the Year, the 2017 Education Thought Leader of the Year, one of 20 to Watch by NSBA, and the Education Policy Person of the Year by the Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2015. His latest book, Learning Transformed: 8 Keys to Designing Tomorrow’s Schools, Today, is an ASCD best seller and was published in 2017.

Keynote: Mandy Froehlich

Mandy is a Director of Innovation and Technology in Ripon, Wisconsin where she supports and encourages educators to create innovative change in their classrooms. Her passion lies in reinvigorating and re-engaging teachers back into their profession, as well as what is needed to support teachers in their pursuit of innovative and divergent thinking. She consults with school districts and post-secondary institutions around the country in the effective use of technology to support great teaching, conducts workshops as a Google for Education Certified Trainer and has presented on similar topics at conferences such as CUE, TIES, FETC and ISTE.

Her first book, The Fire Within: Lessons from defeat that have ignited a passion for learning, discusses mental health awareness for teachers. Divergent EDU is her book based on an organizational structure she developed to support teachers in innovative and divergent thinking.

IETA Membership

Annual membership in the Idaho Education Technology Association is individual.

IETA is a non-profit organization and its operating activities are funded solely through membership fees. Your continued support of IETA is greatly appreciated.

The purpose of the Association shall be promoting and facilitating the use of technology in Idaho education. The Association shall promote, facilitate and sustain technology and all its users while enhancing the education of Idaho’s students for tomorrow’s technology.

Any Idaho K-12 public school employee or public school district appointed representative who is desirous of promoting the interest of the IETA and sharing in its work shall be eligible for membership and may be an active member paying the annual dues as provided in the Bylaws. An active member shall be entitled to vote, hold office, participate in all activities of the Association, and receive publications and other services of the Association.

Active members are also invited to attend regional meetings. IETA is divided into 6 regions and each region holds informative meetings about utilizing technology in education. These meetings usually have State Department of Education updates, vendors showing how to best utilize their products, and districts collaborating on technology use.

IETA grants have been made possible due to the generosity of our annual conference sponsors. IETA will award a minimum of $10,000. Grant proposals can be written for up to $2,000. Please note only one grant submission per IETA member.
